Trishauna Garrett, Founder & Executive Director

Meet Our Founder


Trishauna Garrett is the Founder and Executive Director of The Pink Ribbon Society, a nonprofit organization committed to providing education, resources, and holistic support to individuals and families affected by breast cancer. An educator with over 25 years of experience, Trishauna brings a strong foundation in leadership, community engagement, and education to her work in advocacy and nonprofit service.


Trishauna’s passion for breast cancer awareness and advocacy began when her mother was diagnosed, a journey that deeply shaped her commitment to ensuring others have access to accurate information, support, and hope. Her dedication intensified through her own survivorship experience, transforming her personal journey into a powerful mission of service.


As a respected advocate, Trishauna has spoken and educated communities on vital topics related to breast cancer prevention, treatment, survivorship, and overall wellness. She is recognized as a breast cancer thriver by her sorority and the broader community, honoring her resilience, leadership, and commitment to empowering others through education and advocacy.


With a deep passion for advocacy and wellness, Trishauna is committed to addressing not only the physical impact of breast cancer, but also the emotional, mental, and social challenges that often accompany a diagnosis. Her vision for The Pink Ribbon Society centers on health equity, community connection, and hope—bridging gaps in access to resources while fostering a safe and compassionate space for healing and education.


Through The Pink Ribbon Society, Trishauna continues to champion awareness, health equity, and survivorship while honoring her mother’s legacy. Her work is driven by the belief that knowledge is power and that no one facing breast cancer should ever feel alone.

Dr. Chamara Harris

Dr. Chamara Harris, LCSW-S, LPC-S, CCMC serves as a member of The Pink Ribbon Society Board of Directors and brings over 20 years of experience in clinical mental health across federal, state, and private settings. Her professional background includes working with high-risk children, pregnant women, adults, older adults, and veterans, with a specialization in geriatrics and individuals navigating complex medical, psychosocial, and life transitions.


In addition to her clinical work, Chamara is an Independent Health and Life Insurance Broker with Health Necessities, giving her a unique perspective on access to care, coverage navigation, and the financial considerations that often accompany serious medical diagnoses. She is deeply committed to holistic, compassionate care and to strengthening systems that support emotional well-being, advocacy, and access to resources.


Chamara looks forward to being an integral part of the board and contributing her experience and perspective to support individuals currently facing breast cancer, as well as survivors, throughout their healing journey.

Valerie Beverly

Valerie Beverly is a retired healthcare professional with over 25 years of experience as a Supervisor in the Film and Mammography Department at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she worked closely with breast cancer patients and women receiving preventive care on a daily basis. Her career reflects a deep commitment to women’s health, compassion, and service.


Valerie currently remains active in her church, where she serves in the Women’s Ministry and holds leadership roles on the Finance Team and Decorating Committee. She is widely recognized as a dedicated leader, known for her commitment, integrity, and ability to motivate and encourage others—especially during challenging times.


With a lifelong passion for giving back, Valerie has supported individuals and families through providing food, clothing, transportation, job assistance, and shelter resources. In 2005, encouraged by friends and family, she brought her vision to life by founding Queens of 3703, Inc., where she serves as Founder and President. The organization was established to serve both men and women by empowering and educating the community, raising awareness, bringing joy to senior citizens, supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, and providing guidance to graduating seniors.


In addition to her nonprofit leadership, Valerie proudly serves as a member of The Pink Ribbon Society Board of Directors, where she contributes her extensive healthcare experience and passion for advocacy in support of individuals affected by breast cancer.


Valerie remains deeply committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others through service, leadership, and compassion.

Marquisha Ward

Marquisha “Keisha” Ward is a motivated, people-focused leader and a dedicated advocate for women’s health. She proudly serves as a member of The Pink Ribbon Society Board of Directors, where she contributes her expertise and passion to advancing education, access, and support for individuals affected by breast cancer.


With extensive experience in healthcare operations, team development, and business management, Keisha is known for creating efficient, inclusive, and high-performing environments that align organizational goals with community needs. She brings a thoughtful, hands-on approach to leadership, with a strong foundation in safety compliance, budgeting, scheduling, and data-driven decision-making. Her work consistently focuses on removing barriers, strengthening daily operations, and delivering dependable, high-quality care.


Currently serving as a Health Center Manager in Houston, Texas, Keisha oversees day-to-day operations, financial performance, staffing, and workflow planning while fostering a positive, safety-minded workplace culture. Her professional background spans healthcare, behavioral services, home health, and financial services, providing her with a well-rounded perspective on compliance, risk management, and patient-centered care. Throughout her career, she has built strong relationships across teams and with community partners, holding high standards while supporting professional growth and development.


Outside of her professional work, Keisha enjoys creating vision boards, journaling, and finding joy in all things Hallmark—reflecting her belief in intentional living, reflection, and optimism. Known for her warmth, organization, and ability to see the bigger picture, Keisha brings both heart and strategy to her leadership and service.

Dr. Lona Winnegan

Dr. Lona Renae Winnegan, DNP, APRN, NP-C serves as a member of the Pink Ribbon Society Board of Directors. She is an accomplished Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience in neurosurgical and advanced practice leadership. In her professional background, her expertise spans complex spine and peripheral nerve disorders, patient education, informatics, and quality improvement initiatives.


Throughout her career, she has held leadership roles in military and academic medical centers. She has spearheaded clinical excellence initiatives, served on multiple quality and safety committees, leadership in multidisciplinary teams, and contributed to health IT innovation. Winnegan is committed to advancing patient care through evidence-based practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, and technology integration to improve patient outcomes.
